LONDON FASHION WEEK Feb 2010!!!

London Fashion Week February 2010 @ Freemasons Hall, Covent Garden.

I interned for Vauxhall Fashion Scout for the full duration of LFW. Day 1 was set up day so the catwalk, lights, seats and wall designs had to be done.

Me & Dineo setting up

There were SOOOOOOOO MANY INTERNS split into 2 teams, Backstage and Front of House. I was put backstage which I was happy about. There was a lot to do when setting up, so I was always kept busy. The people that worked there were really nice.

By Day 2 the number of interns dropped to around half. *surprised face* I'm guessing it was the long days. From 17th - 24th Feb with crazy hours. Some days I would be doing a 7am-8pm or 8am-6pm or even longer. As there was so many interns it was hard to stay or keep organised.

As I was backstage I got to dress models and help out with the designers, watch the hair & make up artists and mingle.

Backstage includes models, designers, dressers, make up, hair, assistants etc. Being a dressers is like WOW! the adrenalin rush you get from the fast pace rush is mind blowing. Your rushing like crazy trying to get your model out of their first look into the second a quickly as possible. Like within in seconds. Models who were sharing parts of each others outfits especially shoes was CRAZY!!! It was manic. The way all models sprinted as soon as they came off the catwalk to get into their next look was as if we were at the Olympics. haha! You had to move fast and that was that.

The collections were fab. I actually loved them all. It was great having the experience as I got to see how hard work pays off. The determination and skill you can see in every garment that went onto the catwalk and how each garment was made to perfection.

There were so many collections in which were inspiring. I don't think there was a collection in which I did not like. In each collection the garments complemented each other from the colours to the silhouettes it all fitted in well.

I have hundreds of pics I could upload but this page would never end so I just uploaded a few ;-p

Of course I had to spot BOY GEORGE sporting his Air Force Ones loooooooool defo had to take a pic of him, he is a celeb after all.

My FAV PIC of the week has to be this:

Me and Amber Rose :-) damn I look so pale but whoi cares coz it's Amber Rose :-)

It was such a great experience and a very long week, the hours were crazy but I am glad I got to be a part of it.

Until next week

NOT MUCH!!!

This week has been laid back. Not much has gone on apart from the usual daily duties. A continuation of buyers emails and image requests.

Not really an exciting week at all. Just literally going over the same as previous weeks.

SAMPLES!!!

As per usual, NEWSPAPERS! Going through the weekend papers. Scanning in coverage on New Look, sorting through the supplements as well as scanning in coverage from each then comping each supplement and entering the results into the excel spreadsheet.

Amaka (PR Manager UK & Europe) asked me to do a job for her, preparing samples to send out to Holland. When the samples had pics taken of each they were then to be boxed up. The images were saved in a folder under Holland to know what samples were sent out.

New samples that had came down from the Buyers were to be displayed in the showroom on the runway, wall boxes and in the cupboards.

Updating captions on line onto PR Shots for journalists to see. All images from the site were taken from the SS11 Denim Look Book. I had to name and title each image eg. (L-R) Pocket front T-shirt £4.99/6.99Euros

Returns at store to book in all returns from Head Office. Thats pretty much it for this week.

Until next week x x x
