MY LAST WEEK :-(

19th - 22nd Dec 2011 my last few days at New Look Press Office.

I must say I was defo sad to go. Since Jan 4th 2011 - Dec 22nd I have been with the Press Team Mon - Thurs 9am - 5.30pm.

The week has been very very slow so there has not been much to do apart from the usual. To me it felt like the days were moving soooo slow which made my last few days drag on forever.

Wed 21st was our X-mas party down at the Loop Bar where the majority of New Look partied the night away. It was such a laugh seeing everyone get together and have fun. Some drunk some more drunk but hey its X-MAAAAASSSSSSS lol. Before the party had started back at the office was a mini beauty parlour, where the showroom was transformed. There was a lady to do our nails and eyelashes and all that was needed was a donation towards a charity. There was champagne all round , loads of cakes and nibbles and music *dancing* I had to get my lashes done but unfortunately I had to do my nails myself as the lady was so busy doing lashes for all the women that she didn't have enough time to do the both :-( (my nails looked good anyway :-p) So that defo got the party started.

As I was leaving on my last day I recieved a card from the whole Press Team. It was so nice of them all to put in their little messages. Rohini awwww bless her she came down and gave me a lil goodie bag with loads of lil presents and cards. Was such a nice thought of her.

My time is over for now but I will be back. Would like to so thanks to the Press Team and thanks to everyone who has folled me along my journey.

IT'S ALMOST OVER!!!

A day before my last ever sample sale which sadly I will not be attending :-( however I did get to pick out a few bits and bobs. Perfect timing for x-mas as I got prezzies for my family.

The week has been so. Was in the Press Office over at store for the day and it was sooooo quiet. Hardly any store appointments or call ins, so it was a chilled week for us all. Fingers crossed my last few days next week will be much better than the last.

SS12 PRESS DAY!!!

Press Day Invitation

On a whole Press Week was amazing. The collection is very feminine, soft and playful. I'm loving the collection especially the contrast of colours and fabrics. Even the food was sooooooo good OMG!!! which was all made and prepared by Park Royal Studios Catering. :-)

It was nice to see all the old interns back for the day as we got to catch up a bit. and we all got to receive a goody bag. (Minus the goods :-(

All in all it was a good turn out and such a fun day. Sadly this will be my last Press Day. (Unless they invite me back :-p) Bet they will ;-p

SHOWROOM TRANSFORMED INTO A SAMPLE SALE :-)

The showroom has been transformed into yet another sample sale. This sample sale was BIG I mean BIG!!! Literally all the the samples in the cupboards, rails, catwalk and wall boxes were for sale. All the W11 samples had to go in preparation for the new SS12 collection :-)

As you can imagine sample sales can be crazy! Which yes it was. Everyone who works in head office gets to purchase goods for less than a fraction of the retail price. I got my hands on a green parka jacket which I got for £1. Yes £1 arghhhhhhhhh OMG loving it :-) and like me soooo many other people they got to grab a bargain to. OH HOW I LOVE SAMPLE SALES!!!


The day after the sample sale out came the SS12 Footwear. Most will be used at Press Day. They just keep coming down form the buyers upstairs. There were so many boxes.

If only this was my bedroom floor I WOULD BE IN HEAVEN IF I WAS :-) I must say it took what felt like a life time displaying all those shoes like that. Box after box after box. Some of the shoes are amazing defo need a few pairs when they start to come out.

As you can see there are way too many. And this isn't even the half of it. *can't watch*

SHOOT SHOOT PHOTO SHOOT!!!

Such a fun and interesting week. Best day of the week has got to be 15th. Photo shoot with Donovan Pascal (The Designer Director of Idol) for "PREY OF LONDON" @ SNAP STUDIOS.

What an amazing collections. The designs were incredible and made to such perfection. The detail and embellishment was mind blowing. The colour scheme went well and each outfit was thoughtfully  put together.  Here's a sneak peak at their moodboard Shhhhhhhh!!!

There is a rock-chic feel to the designs with stud, leather and feathers. The colour scheme is suited perfect and works well together. Lace and texture makes the collection look edgier than edge. LOL
 
The Model (Anastasija) from Elite Models was fantastic. She knew exactly what she was doing and the photographer loved her every move. She suited everything that was put on her and made the clothes look even better.

 I am so glad I got to be able a part of this experience. The whole team work so well together and you can see the hard work and effort that has gone into each and every garment from designing to making.
The whole day was great (even down to lunch. yuuuum!!!) Will gladly say I will be more than happy to work with Donovan again as I was such a great and understanding time.

Can't say a lot about the collection as the Look Book is for AW12 so my lips are sealed. All I can say is be prepared as this collection will be huge. Defo grabbing my fav pieces when it hits the shelves.

SAMPLE SALE 1!!!

Sample sale prep for the start of the week. This sample sale will take place in the car park. Rails will be brought up from press and displayed in the car park. 10 interns will be taking part which means it is a big sample sale. Setting up the day before means all samples will be gathered; bags, shoes, clothes, jewellery and accessories including womens, mens and kids.
As there were so many interns to help organisation will be key and structure in order for the sample sale to flow with ease.

The day of the sample sale was hectic. Many people from each floor at Head Office came down to grab yet another bargain. Each sample sale is crazy I must say. Clothes end up on the floor, hangers are everywhere and stuff in boxes are all over the place. It started at 11pm and finished around 2pm. All the money gathered will go to charity which the Press team donate to each sample sale we have.

The rest of the week I spent instore doing call ins. Pople from different publications came in such as The Sun and More magazine.

STORE!!!

In-store this week, 3days. As it is leading up to SS12 Look Book shoots the Press Office in-store was being run by interns. Lauren might be there in the morning for an hour or two but not for a full day, so its up to us the look after and maintain the office.
Keeping an eye out for any call ins being emailed through to the press inbox and answering the phones "Hello Press" lol. It hasn't really been busy as there are not many store appointments. We get through a lot of emails per day, which means the more call ins we send out its more likely for New Look to be used and seen. A lot of the people who come in to store are usual known faces who usually come in regularly. I must say it does take some time remembering names as soooooo many people come in that you remember their face but you can't but a name to it.

It is quiet chilled being in store but there is always something to do so it isn't that bad.

OCTOBER!!!

At the start of the week there was a lot of daily coverage so there was a lot to scan. As well as doing the usual daily duties scanning took up a lot of time, before I knew it it was lunch time lol.

I had to do an Excel spreadsheet where I took pics of sample shoes and listed how many pairs there were in sizes 4 & 7 and the price.

There were quite a lot of samples so this was done over a few days. It did get finished by the end of the week. Pheeeeeeew!!!

Challenging erm no not really. I honestly have not a lot to say as just the usual went on. Being in the returns room sat at a computer replying to image request and doing returns.

A LIL BIT OF MERCHANDISING!!!

THIS IS WHAT I LOVE DOING.

Putting together new outfits to create something different. I love styling garments together as this has been something I have realised while being here.

So as you know I was in the showroom changing all the mannequins on display. Figuring out what to put with what, what top complements what bottom etc...............

So here is what I had come up with:

Everyone really loved the last outfit I had put together. I got a lot of complements for my efforts and quite a few people who came in for appointments requested the outfit or parts of it.

I could style for a living no problem. It's fun and I really enjoyed it and continue to enjoy it.

NEW LOOK OPENS IN STRATFORD!!!

NEW LOOK OPENS IT'S DOORS IN WESTFIELD STRATFORD CITY.

New Look store Westfield Stratford

Setting up the New Look store in westfield Stratford was AMAZING!!! The store layout was well neat and organised ready for the public to scramble on in.

As the crowd starting to enter the store was looking very busy.
Kelly Brook was a guest appearance on the day, signing autographs and serving a few customers. The rush was crazy when customers new she was coming. *I must say I got a lil excited myslef*

Kelly Brook looking stunning in head-to-toe of New Look she is such a natural infront of the cameras even tough every single phototgrapher was screaming out her name for attention. must say although it only lasted a few mintues the flashes on the cameras had my eyes watering.

Afetr all the hype of Kelly Brook instore a guest appearance from Nicole Scherzinger was about to take place in the biggest shopping mall in Europe. As you all know us girls had to go see, which is exactly what we done :-)

Nick Grimshaw and Pixie Geldof presented her performance.

So they gave their speech and I was well excited for Nicole to come out. I had my phone in my hand ready to start snapping. Where we was stood was as if I could reach out and grab her. Some how we managed to use oiur charm ;-) and get close up.

3DAY WEEK!!!

This week was defo the quickest. 3 day week but sadly not much had happened :-)

Just the usual. Newspapers each morning as well as scanning in daily coverage or coverage from the weeklies on Tuesday. Comping supps, weeklies and monthly and maintaing the showroom.

Although the week was short so was the work load :-(

Another week gone by yet again.

So this week is no different to last week. We get sooooooo many image request sent through daily. I don't think you understand how many I have done this week *surprised face*

I think from these past two weeks I should now be called "IMAGE REQUEST LADY"  loool I AM A PRO I would have to say I'm the best yes the best, the best at doing high res image requests. haha too funny.

So next week if it is the same as the past two weeks I will have to announce my new title.................

Until then my fingers are staying crossed hoping image requests are at a minimum (I WISH) ;-)

A FULL WEEK OF IMAGE REQUESTS!!!

OMG so this week is actually unbelievable. How many image request can you get through in one week???

It felt like I was literally doing image requests left right and centre, (which I was)
OK OK It really wasn't that bad but being bombarded with images is a lil crazy.

As Sophie & Lauren are away for the next two weeks Andrea (Press Assistant) will be in charge.

This week has flown byyyyyyy. with the general day to day stuff as well as managing the office and TONES of image requests.

Showroom!!!

Hey guys

I must say that this week has been a lil CRAZY!!! So as the showroom is like my brand new bedroom ;-) I have to make sure the showroom is looking immaculate by the 15th.

It's a task but its defo possible. So for this whole week my task was the SHOWROOM.

What I had done was:

• Catwalk and wall boxes replen with newer samples
• New product on jewellery stands. Replen table
• Move to square mannequins to front, middle, back, laeft and right side of the room
• Put Menswear on the correct hangers and put samples out on display
• Created a new Menswear cupboard to store more samples in
• Created a Generation915 and Kidswear cupboard with rails and shelves to put samples in organised
• Added labels to each womenswear cupboard and sorted out the product into departments eg. blouses, skirts, tops etc..............................................
• Arranging all rails into the correct stories so looking in the showroom folder and placing each garment in the correct story
• Dressing all mannequins and positioning them in relevant places around the showroom.

So as you all can imagine that is actually quite a bit. Luckily the girls were at hand to help AND it did believe it or not take all week. As there was still the daily stuff to do which is Papers and image requests.

HELLO there

After sending out an image request last week to Caroline Kay a Commercial Features Writer for Straffordshire Newspaper LTD where she asked for any Festival-esque bags she could feature, I fount the perfect image for her on the New Look website where I then downloaded it and sent it off to her. (Hoping she would love it and use it for her feature).

A week later she sent me an email with an attachment featuring the bag I had sent her.

NEW LOOK COVERAGE!!!!! Festive bag featured in Straffordshire Newspaper :-p

Teaching Jemma how to scan. Once all of the scanning has been done I will take charge of comping the below magazines. (Please keep track of these – It’s really important we don’t loose any!!)

Hiya Guys

I'm back another week has gone by from doing Buyers Emails my section was Knitwear to being In-store doing Returns PM on Wednesday.

Though out the week we had sooo many returns which needed to be dealt with ASAP then there was image requests as well as the showroom which needed to be merchandised and made to look in order.

I must admit this week has gone by soooooo quick. Before I knew it, it was over. Until next week ;-)

Press Day Over :-(

Hello there!!!

So Press Week is OVER sad I know but it went down well and was very much enjoyed. As for this week getting over the excitement, things are all back to norm. In H.O for the week with the usual daily task.
In-store doing returns on 25th am with Fiona and 26th pm with Zoey and Steff. 

Sad that some interns will not be returning next week as their time is over *crying face*.

AW11 PRESS DAY!!!

HEY GUYS

What a week it has been. 

Seasonal press launch is an invitation to key press and opinion formers to view the collection, comment on the range, and call product in to secure coverage both immediate and ongoing for the season. 

•This season an unprecedented

592 guests visited the event at 1 Marylebone Road, London.  It incorporated areas dedicated to Womenswear including a LTD area, Footwear & Accessories, Lingerie, Menswear,Childrenswear and Generation 915 and IDOL. 
 
Womenswear T

This season, Womenswear was displayed on one side of the venue and separated into the following stories:
Tomboy, Modernist, Age of Nostalgia, Good Life, Northern Tribe, Cocktail Bird. Electric Lady and Limited Edition.Mannequins were dressed to reflect each trend. 

Menswear

The menswear section was designed to showcase the 2 main Menswear collections:

Hunter and Hunted. 
 
 Accessories

The accessories collection was housed around  a café style environment and was showcased in metal display towers as well as being styles with the collections.

Lingerie
Had a dedicated Boudoir themed room with mannequins next to the main area and for the first time a dedicated Press Look Book.

Childrenswear and Generation 915
were displayed on mannequins and rails with accessories shown in box frames.

 

The VIP Party was sooooo much fun. Got to party with a few celebs such as Alexia Jordan, Vanessa White (The Saturdays), Pixie Geldof, The TOWIE lot and a few more. Cocktails all round, dancing and laughter. 

Meet stylists, Freelancers and people in PR, which was nice to hear what they do, their experiences and how we have a great opportunity interning for New Look. (Lets hope doors will fly open. haha)

It was such a long day and night but it worth it. Would defo do it again ;-)

Overall the whole week was a very good experience and to see the collection before it has hits shop floors was amazing. It has defo opened my eyes in terms of design.
